There is nothing quite like the burying of the rod when a chinook or coho decide to bite. If this is what you’re after, you’ve come to the right place!
Springers are the bell of the ball when it comes to table fare and can be pretty wily on hook and line. I provide trips for these prized salmon beginning in March and running into July. My regular haunts include the Columbia and Willamette rivers. Make a full day out of it or just join me for a morning or evening fish. Proximity to Portland is great on these trips.
The Buoy 10 Fishery, located at the mouth of the Columbia River, offers the worlds largest salmon run. With numbers often eclipsing 1 million fish, August and September boast numerous amazing days of fishing. I spend nearly two full months a year here, and it is a marquis fishery that you’ll really want to enjoy for yourself. Big Columbia Kings and scrappy Coho compromise our catch, and the action is regularly fast and furious!
After the action at the Buoy 10 fishery subsides, I move our operations south to the fertile coastal estuaries of north coast Oregon including Tillamook, Siletz, and Alsea Bays. The returning salmon here are often massive and the settings are serene as we fish while being surrounded by the colorful landscapes of the Autumn months.
